Reviews for Cocomo
This little bar is a great place - during the week it is filled with romancing couples and Friday and Saturday things hot up and the place is rammed with revellers. There isn't another like it in the area. The whole place is a bundle of contradictions; - it is a bit grubby, but it has an undeniable charm and a really interesting crowd. Some of the venue's cocktails are hit and miss but the classic drinks are excellent - try a Mojito, a Long Island Iced Tea, a Margarita or one of their knockout Martinis. These are not shabby drinks. On busy nights staff can get a bit stretched knocking these out over and over again - If they hired more people the place would be perfect. They also have a happy hour till 8pm.
Happy hour cocktails
Its refreshing to find a small cosy bar which is much less glamorous than those nearby, but has lots of character. Yes it might be a bit dirty and dark, but its a great place to go for a cocktail or you can hire the basement section for parties
I'd be lying if I said it was a good bar.
The cocktails aren't very good and way too expensive for what they are. I actually like bars that don't hide the fact that they're not offering luxury and are a bit un-kept. But this place is just grimy, in a bad way. Plus the staff are rude!
Dirty (in a good way) and dark, this small bar has a lot of charisma - especially in the basement where a range of battered old sofas are clustered. The cocktails ordered on previous visits have been pretty badly thrown together, so maybe go for something that's harder to screw up, but doubles are often cheap. It represents a nice change from the more contrived scene around the corner in hoxton square.
Cocomo is grimy little bar in Shoreditch, it's quite small and can get quite busy.
Not too pretentious. Standard Shoreditch clientele, music pretty inoffensive (I think they have live music from time to time too).
Only Red Stripe on tap if I remember correctly, but they have a good happy hour (5-7pm) for cocktails.
Worth a visit if you fancy a quick drink and you're in the area.
