208-209 High Holborn, London, WC1V 7BW

This pub is named after Queen Victoria's fourth daughter, Louise. It was built in 1872 and was refurbished in 1891. Ornate plaster work, beautiful cut and gilt mirrors and the finest decorated tiles are plentiful. It serves bar food and there is a restaurant. Catering for private parties of up to 100 guests (on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays) is available upon request.

Reviews for Princess Louise

This place is awesome. All chrome and glass and cheap drink.

The fact that there are three bars you need to go onto the street to change between is awesome.

It's true the refurb is great. All the tiles and mirrors are so sparkly! The drink selection is fantastic and it wasnt too crowded either!

The Princess Louise has just re-opened after an extensive refit, and im glad to say that the pub hasn’t lost any of the character that it had in abundance.

One thing that has changed is that most of the pub has been sectioned off to make cosy booths that fit about 10-20 people and all have access to the bar. Which is a great idea.

Also being a sam smiths pub the beer is good and very cheap (£1.75 for a pint of bitter and £2.50 for the premium larger)and he food looks good. Of course if you have been in a Sam Smiths pub this should come as no shock!

My only complaint is that because of the booth sections the pub can get very hot, especially if there are a few people in your group.

Other than that i cant fault the place and is well worth a look for a quietish beer.

Yet another Sam Smith's, though this one stands out for the wonderful decor inside, and the classic toilets (no, really).

That apart it's standard Sam Smith fare - cheap beer, OK food and a nice atmosphere. Does get rammed in the post-work rush though, so you may have to flee to the Cittie of Yorke or the Crown if it gets a bit too crazy.
