The Cask and Glass
39-41 Palace Street, London, SW1E 5HN
Reviews for The Cask and Glass
This is a great little pub, one of my favourites and from what I can work out the only decent one in SW1 (please, PLEASE disillusion me if you know of any others).
It's a Shepherd Neame house, always a good thing! They boast a narrow range (Master Brew, Spitfire and the seasonal beer, at present the delicious Autumn Red) but it's always top drawer.
The pub itself is very small and consequently gets very busy. In the evenings a crowd tends to spill out across the broad pavement outside. But it is a beautiful little building. Full of dark oak panelling and adorned with the most vibrant window boxes and hanging baskets, it's a real beauty.
I haven't eaten there. I believe they do a modest selection of sandwiches and toasties. Perfect, in my humble opinion, for its size and location.
A tiny little pub nestled in one of the pretty corners of Palace Street, right by Victoria.
The pub is charming, traditional and no nonsense but can get rather busy.
It has seats outside during the Summer which makes it a bit of a winner (if you can get a seat at one of its 3 odd tables)...
