The food was excellent, and the portions generous. Service was quick and the staff were really friendly even though they were really busy.
Reviews for Black Sheep
Popped in earlier today and had one of their "Big Roast's" £12.95. A Slice of Lamb/Beef and Pork along with the best Roast Potatoes I've ever had, plus the usaul seasonal veg and Yorkshire Pud.

one year ago you could come here for one of the nicest burgers and fat chips in town, but theyve made ridiculous cut backs (whilst cleverly keeping the price the same) now the food isnt even edible.
The burgers are no longer lush home made minced yummyness, with crusty bread and the nicest crispiest fat chips ive probably ever had, now you get one of those 20p burger buns with some pathetic excuse of a burger and those skinny chips that taste like theyve been deep fried from frozen (can still taste that horrible watery defrosting flavour) i wouldnt pay 2 quid for that let along the 7.50 they charge.
Also got a roast dinner on sunday (my friend wanted to watch the footy so unfortunately had to eat there), also disgusting, a tenner for soggy roast potatoes and soggy parsnip (parsnip inedible) and dried out carrot and one excuse of a yorkshire pud all drowned in rank gravy. the meat was just about edible though.
Go to the white heart, just round the corner by kennington station, lush pub food (restaurant standard) actually quite posh and you can apparantly get an amazing roast there for only 3 quid more. Or the dog house opposite the white heart not amazing but fortunately it is a hell of a lot better than the black sheep has become.
the ambiance is still good though so if you just want a few drinks then its still a good local pub to go to (and they sill do pub quiz on a sunday night)
This really is a fabulous place to come on a Sunday afternoon. I can't say I've tried the tuna melt just yet, but the burgers here are out of this world. My friend had the Sunday Roast here the other week and it was all we could do to stop her chewing the bones.
There's a lovely, laid-back atmosphere here, and even better - there's table-service. There are an assortment of games available - Pictionary, Cluedo and so on.
My friends and I decided to join in the pub quiz. This was a rather spur of the moment decision. My friends and I are all profoundly deaf, so doing things like this can often be an inconvenience. However, after speaking to the bar manager he happily went off to print out an additional copy of the questions so we could all play.
So not only a brilliant pub, but also disability-aware/deaf-friendly to boot!
If you ever find yourself on the borders of Kennington and Camberwell - as I do rather often, having the (misfortune?) of working around here - this pub is definitely one of the nicest things about the area.
It somehow manages to be spacious yet cosy, something to do with all the dark wood and squashy sofas, and general ambiance. Friendly bar staff and punters. V good happy hour. They also do decent food - especially the enormous sandwiches (chicken club, steak, tuna melt) which come with fat chips - a bargain at £3.95. The tuna melt is a particular favourite.
