Proud doesn't give a good first impression. When you enter, you go through a large, usually empty room (unless you get there late), and wonder if you have come to a bar, or what?! Then you turn the corner, and with relief see a bar with lots of people in, in the old Camden stables. It's really nice, I like the decor, I like the music, and the live music can be quite good. The staff have been really friendly anytime I have been there. It's become a firm favourite and semi-regular haunt.

If you think Monday night is a night for staying, watching telly and washing hair - you're wrong. It's just another day that you can spend doing interesting things and meeting interesting people.
AtProud at the Stables market is the perfect place for that. It's the old photography gallery at Stables Market in Camden (straight in from the entrance), which has been converted to a bar / live music venue. On Monday they have a gig called Favourite Things with some incredible jazz. Whether you're a fan or not,I guarantee you'll like the music. You get a bunch of amazing musicians jamming for your pleasure and a small crowd really enjoying what they're listening to. The night is open to musicians so if you and old hand at the guitar, drums, sax or piano, then turn and get on stage when they ask you too. Very friendly crowd - met some really cool people, top class musicians and vocalists.
The venue is truly unique (have to go to see what I mean) with flat screens and slideshows of the likes of Helmut Newton, so you can't go wrong there.
A good mix of events for every night of the week. Check out http://www.atproud.net/ for more details.
