The Castle

This is a seriously fun pub. My friends have just moved down the road and we visited for the first time on Saturday for the footie. The front bar has a large tv and beer on draft (the usual suspects). The back room has a large open fire, tv and an interesting/eclectic selection of decorations and wall murals.
The upstairs has two pool tables and a foosball table. It doesn't serve food only crisps, which is the only reason we left 7 hours after arriving. But with so many curry and kebab houses around it's all-good. It closes between 5-6am in the weekends and plays the jukebox when they're not having live music or dj's.
Alfie the cat is king of the castle and the bar staff are lovely. It's not gourmet and it doesn't serve exceptional drinks but its full of character, good vibes and laughs. To find out about it's upcoming gigs visit it's myspace page http://www.myspace.com/teamcastle
