Reviews for Eclipse Bar
This place could be OK but the service is appalling, the waitresses are grumpy, slow and seem to be annoyed everytime you ask for something. Furthermore, we were ordering beer and wine so thought we would like some water so we asked for some jugs of tap water - what response did we get? Sullen looks (it was Halloween but these people need not have dressed up they were scarey enough with the filthy looks they served) and a response of "we dont serve tap water", well apart from the fact that is totally unethical even though we were spending hundreds of pounds on alcohol we were refused jugs of water. We of course purchased mineral water but actually I have never been refused a glass of water in any place I have been in my lifetime so was totally shocked. I will never go back to this place again and would advise anyone not to bother, try somewhere where the people are friendly and actually happy to serve you.
Very cool bar, great music, live bongo drums, great cocktails and good looking people! I was impressed with the fact that you could order fresh sushi too! Watermelon martinis and the berry caprioskas are a must!
I was amazed when I went to Eclipse not too long ago. I was expecting to be surrounded by posh, champagne drinking Chelsea girls and city type guys. Instead I found the people extremely chilled out, young and up for having a good time. The staff were really friendly and the bongo player was awesome. We had a great night and have already penned in a return......watch out!
A friend of mine lives round the corner from here, so when I visit I insist on a cheeky visit to the bongo sleekness of Eclipse.
Cocktails are pretty good, but its the atmosphere and friendly bar staff that does it for me!
This is a nice intimate venue that does make things 'cosy' when things get crowded. Definately worth a stay for the w/e crowd who are always fun, vibrant and sexy rather than over loud, overheard and over.
During the week things are more relaxed. And whether you find yourself in Eclipse on a w/e or weekday night the staff are attentive and keep the vibe friendly and funky.
fa103's review mentioned bongo's. So worth a visit if only to find your rhythum!
Eclipse is a short walk from south kensington tube station and is my local hangout!
I would recommend you go on a friday night and witness the bongo man in action...great atmosphere (can be pretty busy though so arrive early)
The drinks are expensive but one of a kind. I would recommend the Guava Melba and Melonova!
OK, now I've always had a good time in this bar.
The bar staff are superb. Attentive, enthusiastic and seem to have a good knowledge of what they're doing.
If you find yourself looking for a pre-Boujis or Collection bar then I'd definitely recommend checking out this bar.
