    So good!

Ok, so the White House has a bad rap (from reading this page) but some of these people haven't been there in 2 years!!
They've done heaps with the refurb. It's really cool and the top VIP bit is cosy.
Ther's eclectic music on Thursday nights, always get a good crowd and big discounts. I went with my mates last Thursday for Kitsch Bitch and there was a cocktail tasting (free booze!!) and the dim sum was 50% off.
The music was cool and the dance floor was packed by midnight.
I had a really great time and I'm always down on Thursdays, I love it.

I was really disappointed with the white house. As a born and raised local, I hoped for somewhere to have a slightly classier environment to dance and drink and be merry with my pals but noooo.

even with the refurb' its still over priced in every aspect, attracts people who think they are too cool to be there mainly city, media and advertising types who no clue about real style or music but follow like sheep.

I say say bring back 'Around the corner' or let people run it who have a clue on how to party properly and put a good venue with great potential to its correct use!

This is the first time I had managed to get down to The White House since it had been refurbished and wow, what a job they have done. The interior is lavisly clad with Leather seating and creates a luxurios surrounding to enjoy some great food and cocktails with friends. Would definately recommend this place to anyone!

    Not for me...........

After much hype about the refurbishment and re-opening of the white house, some friends and I met up there for drinks on a Saturday night and left after about one hour.

If you like standing around, posing, and looking people up and down, then you will fit right in at the White House, but otherwise we found the White House quite boring, lacking atmosphere and not at all a place where I could get cosy for a night or even dance the night away. I could see how other people may like it, but definitely not for me.

What a placethis really is a most exceptional bar restaurant.

Sumptuous, sophisticated surroundings make you think youve just stepped onto a GQ photo shoot, where the star attraction is Paul Hamiltons Modern British menu.

Unique to South London, The White House has been designed and built to give bar goers and diners the very best service in a comfortable, relaxed and stylish environment.

From fantastic lounge food, great cocktails and DJs playing an eclectic mix of music on the ground floor, to the more refined atmosphere of the members lounge everything has been considered to accommodate your perfect evening out.

Downstairs the main restaurant is dimly lit and cozy, whilst still managing to be chic and stylish. The summer menu is a sensible size and not over-ambitious.

The wine list is well priced, try a lovely bottle of Sancerre.

Begin or end your night on Whitehouses newly built roof terrace. This split level area, decked out with plenty of tables, chairs and cushions, has a comfy feel and after a few cocktails its easy to forget youre in a bar not on a friends balcony.

After dinner you can dance the night away and indulge in some rather astounding cocktails. Whitehouse is a trendy place filled with beautiful people and worth putting on your places-to-try list.

    Chefs Speciality Dish:

Caesar salad with a twist: marinated chicken with lemon and saffron.

as an asian, the white house is fairly well named. definitely overpriced, definitely cheesy house that no one really knows much about. come to think of it, its the richer inferno's, although, i have never been to inferno's in clapham. even though ive lived there for nearly 4 years or something ridiculous like that. considering how small the dancefloor is, and the weird layout, i dont think the white house desrves the 10 entry fee. but if youre australian, youd probably love it.

    Lame Clapham nightspot

As Alan has already covered most of the essentials on the White House, I won't waste too many words except to say that the White House is basically someone's house, converted into a god-awful nightspot, where the self-proclaimed "cool" crowd of Clapham gathers to get drunk and pull. Just don't go there. Unless you like getting drunk and pulling, of course. Apparently they do food there as well, but why you'd want to eat in a place with so little character is beyond me.

Description:I'm sorry to say that I once considered this place to be the height of sophistication and the perfect place to go on a Saturday night. Alas I was young and foolish and was primarily interested in our national weekend pastime of 'getting wasted and pulling'. I should also be clear that having lived in the Clapham area for a few years I grew to detest almost everything that it came to represent in my eyes. Yes, I am anti-Clapham, and the White House is probably the most Claphamish place in Clapham. In a nutshell, overcrowded, overpriced, unimaginative house-centric music, stupid layout and frequented by lots of people I could call bad names, but will refer to under the umbrella term of 'nobjockeys'. Having said all that though, I reckon I'll have to drop in there some time soon just to see if its changed in the last year or so. Or maybe not...
