Reviews for Bricklayers Arms

Just to add to what flashboy and Ben already said:

This pub is not far from the restaurants of Charlotte Street and although busy, was not packed on a Saturday evening. Sam Smith's prices make it a good option if you'd rather spend more of your money on good food down the street, and the bar staff were pleasant and remembered your order for the second round (quite impressive!) Upstairs was quite cosy, with window seats and a roaring (gas) fire.

It's nicely located just beyond the hectic-ness of Oxford St, and would probably make a good post xmas shopping bolthole. It will never win awards for style or quaint authenticity, but a decent option nonetheless.

Great proper pub, cheap, Samuel Smiths beers and you can usually always get a seat (even on a Friday evening) which is great considering the location.

Worth pointing out that this place exists - because one if its main attractions is that a lot of people don't know that. Nestled round a corner from both Tottenham Court Road and Charlotte Street, it's often overlooked by the crowds. Not exactly a hidden secret, but sometimes pleasantly empty when everywhere else close by is spilling out onto the streets.

The downside is that it's pretty small, so it only takes one or two sizeable groups of people to realise its there, and it's rammed as well.

As far as it goes, it's a minor Sam Smiths: not one of their best, but perfectly good cheap beer in a nice setting. Especially useful for meeting up before decamping elsewhere (which isn't to say that you can't have a good evening just staying there). Certainly high quality enough to become a fairly regular haunt, insulated from the surrounding fleshpots of Central London.
