A lovely restored Victorian pub in a lovely part of town. The interior is great and the "snob screens" (never worked out their actual purpose or usefulness) are a nice additional curioisity.

Usually quite packed but it is still worth going - decent atmosphere and a good range of beers (mostly Young's). Never had the food though by all accounts that is quite good too.

    What are "snob screens"?

They're like little windows mounted between the punter and barman, which can be swivelled round 90 degrees. I suppose the intent is to stop the staff hear your conversation but they look more hassle then they're worth, you'd have to keep opening and closing every time you order a drink.

Go to the pub and you'll get a better idea of what I mean!
