Reviews for Coach & Horses

Friendly boozer with limited but good real ale on tap (Bombardier and Black Sheep), and solid inexpensive Thai Food. The spicy beef salad is especially good. The Sunday roasts are satisfying and tasty, with the service quick, accurate and unassuming. The place is nothing spectacular but pleasant and comfortable.

This place as a really great atmosphere, nice people nice staff, and fairly priced drink and food, spotless inside and great background music, they do have dj nights and they are good not so loud as you cant chat, for sure one I will visit more often

This used to be a real dive but now it's a really good place to drink. It looks great, the decor has gold and mirrors and low watt light bulbs like a turn of the century gin palace. There's a nice atmosphere as the new decor has brought in a better class of patron, rather than the louts and tramps that used to inhabit the place. In the summer the tables outside make it the Stoke Newington High Street's coolest place to be seen. They show sport and have a fantastic selection of real ale and its music is beyond that of any local rival. If only more pubs were like this!

Probably the best old-fashioned boozer/sports pub/Thai restaurant combination in Stokey. Granted, I'm fairly sure it's the only old-fashioned Thai food sports pub in Stokey, but there you go.

As far as the pub basics go, there's nothing special about it, with standard beers and service that's geared towards the regulars but generally pretty welcoming. The screens are usually tuned to sport of some kind, but often accompanied by an intriguingly eclectic pop/rock jukebox selection.

The thing that sets it apart is the fact that, alongside all the traditional East End pub stuff, it does really rather good Thai food. If you fancy something a bit different to your pub lunch standards, but without having to head for an over-priced gastropub, you could do a lot worse.
