Reviews for The Loft Bar

Sister club Plan B, sets quite a high standard to match for a good night out in South London doesn't it?

Situated just next to Tesco Metro, you could easily walk past this bar. What I've found with The Loft is that it's best for chilled Sunday drinks and quick pre-club drinks.
Maybe once the novelty of a newish venue to Clapham High St wears off it will be more feasible but due to the size and layout, it's finding it hard to cope with the public demand.

I've been here on numerous occassions now, Tuesday evening after work drinks, Friday/Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons, and I will keep going back as its a very nice bar. Trendy without being pretentious, staff are fun and friendly and the food is good for a bar too.

The lazy and the vain, will the love the lift entrance that takes you directly into the bar and lights up as you arrive - drawing all eyes on you.
Short people will hate the trademark high bar, that requires you to have to look up to bar staff or struggle to pay/get your drink without spilling it.
The seating is not designed very well but is very sought after, on busy nights you are left with people shaking their asses in your face, annoyingly.

The views out the windows are restricted and blocked out if you are sitting but it could be to remove the view of the shops, drunk revellers on the streets, and fast food joints.

They always have good music - styling itself as a DJ bar, rather than club, with Norman Jay on the opening party night and the likes to follow. If you remain until closing - 1.30am, you can ask staff for a wristband for entry to carry on partying for free at Plan B in Brixton.

cocktails averaging on £6/7 each, soft drinsk £1.50, beers, £4.50
