I know this is based on only one incident, but I still value customer service when I go out, and our server clearly had no idea what customer service meant.
I ordered a pizza that had 4 main ingredients....zucchini, eggplant, mixed peppers, and sundried tomatoes. It came to me with no peppers at all. Considering they charge you 1.50 to add an ingredient, I felt a bit ripped off having one of mine missing. I waited for a server to come by so I could say something, but nobody did. Pretty soon I figured, whatever, I’ll just eat it. And it was very nice.
When they finally came to clear away the plates, I said to the guy, 'Just thought you should know that my pizza was missing one of the main ingredients'. The dude looked at me with a 'Yeah, so what?' face, didn't say anything back, and just stared at me. So I said ‘Well, I just thought you should know'. He responded ‘Okay’. At this point I think I laughed, because I was a bit shocked by his response, or lack there of. I’m not someone looking for anything other than perhaps a simple apology. A small thing like that can go a long way. However, he then says to me, in a rather condescending voice 'You want some peppers now?' Now who in the world would want a bowl of peppers after eating their meal??? Clearly that is not what I wanted. What a patronizing way to respond to a customer. I said 'uh, no thanks' and he just walked away.
So if you decide to go, I hope you don’t get the tall goofy looking South African server.
The place is a bit too try hard in the décor. It is more like trying to eat in the middle of a noisy dance club. But the pizza was nice.
The name is fairly appropriate- because the place is cool. It's cool in the fact that on site they brew their own beer. It's really not that amazing to look at - just a few pipes and a couple of metal vats. My problem with the pub is that they do not serve any type of cider - and I'm a cider drinker first.
It gets very busy on the weekends while still trying to be a restaurant as well. I see couples trying to enjoy a romantic dinner downstairs with people all around. I would never come here to eat (especially not at the weekend anyway). I can't comment on the food having never tried it. We normally pop in for a drink or two before going elsewhere. But you might as well pop in for one to try the beer and check out the brewery!
Zero Degrees is based around the very cool concept of being built around a real brewery, which you can see. So the ale is very special and drinking really feels like an event. However, we turned up pretty late for a meal and while they didn't turn us away like a few other places, they were very distracted and almost a little rude. Downstairs was very noisy so we opted for upstairs which looked pretty tatty.
I'd definitely give this place another go, not on the weekend though, and not so late at night.
This is an interesting place due to the combination of pizzeria, brewery and interior décor. It's got a very industrial feel inside with the exposed steel beams, ventilation pipes and brewery. So this may turn some away.
The good points include: Great beer brewed on site, good pizza, happy hour in the week, reasonably priced.
The bad points: Very busy on the weekends, turns into a bit of a meat market on weekends and tries to be a little too posh (i.e. attendant in the loos).

And I find it amusing, as you seem to making up details. I never once said anything about the price of the pizza - that was solely in my review. I didn't want a discount. All I wanted was an apology, which I never got. Had I got that, I wouldn't have said anything to the manager.
And my server was definitely south african (and this doesn't have anything to do with ethnicity - only a way of identifying someone who's name I don't have), so perhaps you're thinking of someone else. Missing peppers a common occurance perhaps??
