The Defector's Weld pub opened a couple of years ago bringing a much needed late night respectable boozer to Shepherds Bush. The higgledy piggledy layout, with booths, hidden corners and a occasionally open upstairs, caters as well for first dates as it does big groups. There's also a smoking area at the back. With a lack of similar venues in the area, it gets pretty packed most nights and heaving at the weekends. An ongoing promotion on cocktails (buy one get another for £1) and a good selection of beers make it worth a visit, if you want to drink til late without leaving West London.

Nasty doormen 4th July 2008

This pub's a bit on the expensive side but nice enough - on the inside. Unfortunately a VERY nasty experience with the doormen when I'd left but my girlfriend was still inside looking for me. On refusing to let me in, they grab me and ripped my £120 coat to shreds. The management didnt want to know and obviously do not care even with a formal complaint - not a place I'll ever be visiting again.

Not recommended!

Living close by, this is by far the best bar in Shepherds Bush vicinity. While I've never tried the food, the menu looks great with a Sunday the best of the bunch with DJ on in the afternoon also. Relaxed pub at very reasonable prices (~3pounds/pint), but can get very busy if looking for a seat. Try it out.

Nice pub with good, solid grub and excellent music. Just veering enough on the side of cool to not be pretentious.
