A great gastro pub with superb décor,ornate wood carved architraves and panelled walls. Excellent service (ask for Lucy) and wonderful food. A menu that suits even the most picky eater. Great selection of fish dishes, vegetarian and good old staples, steak, burgers and fat cut chips. The deserts are good also.

Hazzabout

This is a big old pub, full of lots of dark wood, high ceilings, stained glass windows and comfy sofas. It's recently smartened up its act and started serving really good food. Typical gastropub type stuff - yummy roasts, casseroles, big salads etc. Nice wine and beer selection too. Had a really nice evening here with friends a few weeks ago - lots of hearty food and wine, then we rolled down the road to watch some comedy at the Kings Head.
