Reviews for The Daniel Defoe

A real local boozer, don't expect artfully mismatched chairs and farrow and ball walls, this is old school boozer scrubbed up nice - friendly and welcoming, big beer garden and good beer and wine.

The Defoe is a Stoke Newington’s best pub. It’s simple, unpretentious and is open late at the weekend. On Sundays they serve the best roast dinners in all of N16 and at a really good value price too. This may not look like a glamorous place but who cares about looks when you’ve got good drinks, comfy seats and a relaxed atmosphere in which to while away the hours talking with friends, never having to worry because you’ll close before it does. The Defoe is also one of only a few pubs to sell pear cider, a delicious drink that makes this pub well worth a visit.
