This gastropub most definately serves some of the best pub food in Chiswick! The menu is monthly changing with daily specials, the background music plays softly over the hum drum of expectant voices, the staff are extremely helpful and friendly and, the ricky old furniture adds character and atmosphere to this charming pub! Their wine list is interesting and extensive with 12 by the glass, they have a good selection of lagers and always have 3 real ales on at a time.
The 'Antipasti’ which comprises chicken liver crostinis, polpettini, mozzarella & roast tomato salad is a great starter to share and my grilled lamb chops with couscous and
cucumber yoghurt was absolutely spectacular.
The Swan has an emormous well looked after beer garden which I an sure brings in the crowds in droves and has definately enticed me to come back in the summer - if not before!

The Swan is a very welcoming Chiswick gastropub pub located in a residential area. Mismatched wooden tables & chairs fill the two inside sections, and there is a garden at the back for when the weather warms up.

We went there for lunch one cold winters day, arriving early to beat the rush. The pub soon filled up with Chiswick locals, and happily it wasn't too smoky. Service was relaxed and friendly, and we enjoyed our meal.

Lunch started with a couple of slabs of fresh baked bread, that were delivered to us with a small bowl of olive oil for dipping. To eat we had the Lamb Shank with creamy polenta, and the Italian sausages with canelli beans. The food was well cooked and the serves were big...no room for dessert (shall have to go back!).


***Went back again in Oct 2007 - still like the place, but food was a little disappointing this time. Still, would consider returning again in the future***
