River Level2A Southwark Bridge Road, London, SE1 9HA

A stone's throw from Tate Modern, Zakudia is cleverly designed to allow every guest the benefit of the panoramic Thames view. Smart and modern, Zakudia is the kind of bar where you can feel at home whatever you're doing, whether it's pre-club cocktails, a beer with a friend, or dining from the contemporary European menu.

Reviews for Zakudia

Only been there during the day as it is on my regular Sunday walk route but this bar has the most amazing view of the Thames.

Stylish and well laid out for a smallish venue, this bar serves some of the best cocktails i have had in ages..

Friendly service, nice toilets and a great selection of drinks Zakudia offers a great watering hole for the trendy south bank crowd.

Right next to the Tate modern its a great place to pop in if you've been walking along the river.

Not been in the evening yet so cannot pass comment on the crowd and atmosphere...

This would Be a very nice place to go on a date as the floor to celling windows frame the view of the Thames beautifully.. Very romantic.

This is a very cool, intimate bar that serves some of the best cocktails in town. The food is o.k, I recommend the platter to share, to soak up a bit of the alcohol you will undoubtedly consume as you gaze out of the floor to ceiling windows over the thames and the cities skyline beyond(very romantic at dusk)

I would never have discovered Zakudia if it wasn't a friend who pointed it out to me after having a meal along the South Bank. Zakudia is situated next to the Tate Modern and not too far away from the Southwark and London Bridge Station along the South Bank. It has this smart type of feel to it. What's interesting about this place is it's name. I understand that Zakudia is a Zambian word but I don't remember it's meaning and unfortunately their website doesn't provide any explanation. However accept for a few african paintings and one or two African songs this place has virtually nothing to do with Africa which is a bit unfortunate.

The other slight disappointed is the ceiling... it's incredibly low, I wouldn't need to stretch out my arm very far to touch it!!! So if you're claustrophobic I wouldn't recommend this place for you.

Accept from the people all seemed to be quite friendly giving this place a comfortable feel to it. I haven't tried the food so I wouldn't be able to comment on Caffeinehit's view on it.

I'm glad to have discovered this little place as I really wasn't aware of bars along the South Bank so I'm glad to know this one.

How funny, I designed the menu and their website. The Cocktails are great (or at least they were when I last went there last year).

Zakudia (in Zambian) means 'Come Eat' - apparently.

This has to be one of the best cocktail bars in London. If you're looking for a fun night out after work or a cosy night in with the other half this is the perfect bar.

With views over the Thames towards St.Pauls, a fantastic food menu and cocktails to die for look no further for a night out.
