Reviews for The Long Room

The Miter aka. The Long Room.

Place turned out quite nice and has a program as well - Mondays Movies (classics for 3-5 quid and some popcorn -always a laugh), comedy every now and then - so they really did something with the place.

It is a very nice and clean pub - a lot more hip and relaxed with the bar area but also some nice leather seats to sink into - overall the service is good - food (from what I had on the menue) nice and better than the average pub lunch/snack you would get.

Outside garden is to the front on the main road - but still acceptable.

The breakfast Fry-up is of good quality as well (they rent out rooms as well - so B&B style) and can be a weekend life saver. =D

Overall - thumbs up to the place.

The Mitre (as it has been known for 200 years) But now renamed the Long Room is now a civilised and attractive environment, with clean loos, good food and a pleasent ambience. They also have free WIFI, which is very helpful for business lunches, and people like me who want to have a drink and search the net. . . . . . . The staff are friendly, and there is lots of out-door seats for the summer. This place is certainly the best pub in Tooting, its just suffered from being a little way out from the centre (but you can get there in 5 minutes walking from Tooting Broadway), this pub deserves more attention, but should reconfigure its seating which is a little pretentious and fussy (and not perticularly comfortable), otherwise GREAT

This used to be The Mitre. The Mitre was a mess, a dingy gaff full of goons. It had a few pool tables that were constantly monopolised by charmless halfwits who would steal your fifty pence pieces from the table and deny they ever saw you put them down. Now the pool tables are gone. The goons are gone. The walls are papered with ornate flock paper and the toilets titled with intricate mosaics –its almost a shame to wee against it. The beer garden is now filled with benches and high parasols making it a wonderful place to drink in the summer and comfortable to smoke in the winter. The Long Room has completely reinvented itself and deserves the highest marks. Do pop in.
