Reviews for Ealing Park Tavern
The Ealing Park Tavern is a popular gastropub located in a not so fashionable part of Ealing. The dining room has high celings and chunky wooden furniture. There is a blackboard menu, reasonable wine list (mostly French), and service was good.
We both had rib-eye steak with chips and red wine butter - all tasty. We shared a particularly delicious vanilla bean creme brulee for desert. It was good honest food.
On a rare visit to west London visiting a friend, we made an impromptu stop at the Ealing Park Tavern for some food.
Serving until 2.45 we just caught the kitchen. The place is massive, with outside tables and a huge restaurant and bar area with usual sofas. You can eat anywhere.
The barman was good - when choosing wine by the glass he put me off a chardonnay and, without me asking, poured me three samples of a sauvignon, viognier and pinot grigio. I went for the viognier, which at £4 for a large glass wasn't bad value at all. In my local, in the country, they charge £5.50.
Food was really good, the portions were vast. I had a decent broad bean, pea and mint risotto, and friends had a tomato and goats cheese tart; and scallops with girolles.
Prices were high, but aren't they everywhere that's decent these days.
Having said all this, the place was empty. Is it the location? There must be enough yummy mummies around here, maybe they all go for early lunches before they put their little rascals down for sleep in the afternoon or cart them off to baby gym or bouncing baby swim sessions...
