Horse Guards Parade is the setting for the ceremonial changing of the guards which happens daily. The Horse Guards Parade was built in 1745 and is London's single largest open space. The guards are changed at the top of every hour. It is also the setting for the yearly Trooping of the Colour - a ceremony celebrating the Queens Official Birthday. Outside the entrance to the Horse Guards Parade are two mounted troopers of the Household Cavalry, who stand guard over the entrance to the Horse Guards.
