Christakis Greek Taverna
York St, Liverpool, L1 5BN
Reviews for Christakis Greek Taverna
I have been to this restaurant a couple of times and although i'm not a big fan of greek food it is still worth visiting every know and then. The portions are huge, there is no way you can eat everything, and it is all cooked nicely with lovely tasty flavours. I normally get the meatballs which are delicious, but I always end up sharing them out because there's so many.
I have also had the menu which comes with about 20 odd courses (£15 I think), which is definitely worth it - they just keep bringing out more and more food, kebabs, dips, meatballs, well a bit of everything really - but remember not to finish each dish because there is no way you'll manage every course!
Fantastic place, brilliant food, hospitality and entertainment. One of Liverpool's hidden gems. could not believe the banquet 30+ courses for about £15, unfortunately I could not finish it all, just too much food. be sure you are hungry before your visit. This place is great for a party or celebration, be sure to tell them if it is your birthday and you will be well looked after. The meatballs are to die for. The staff and owner are so nice they will treat you like family. Have been many times but as of yet have not made it to one of the belly dancing plate smashing entertainment nights, I hear these are a must and make for a terrific, rather different night out dining. be sure to pay this place a well deserved visit.
Christiakis Greek Taverna serves Greek Cypriot food to big crowds at all hours - well, not quite all hours, but every night until midnight, Fridays and Saturdays until 2pm. Food is uncomplicated standard Greek dishes and service is friendly and personal (Christiakis himself is there every night).
If you are out as a couple make sure to go for the Early Bird Special, 5pm to 7pm, 2 course for £8 or 3 courses from a wider selection for £10. But don't hang about, come 8 o'clock on a weekend the restaurant fills up with birthday parties, hen and stag does and other huge groups out, which Christiakis magically fits into a not very large space to enjoy the fast service followed by belly dancing and plate smashing, with guaranteed involvement of the birthday boy or girl, hen or stag.
Great for a good value night out with friends.
