Reviews for Eureka
Brilliant, traditional greek restaurant, always crowded and rightly so, because the food is great. Their service is exemplary - they once fitted in a party of 21, without a booking, at 9pm, because we go there often!!
The wine is cheap and very drinkable, the food filling and really tasty, and best of all, it feels like a real greek taverna - no fancy linen tablecloths, and seas of cutlery; just retro, quirky, decor.
It's fast too, so good for lunchtime, I'm told.
I've been going to Eureka for about 10 years now, and have never been disappointed. Located in an unglamourous parade of shops, and with a very basic interior, the restaurant is not something that would attract passing trade, but always busy with return customers (and famously the actor Samuel L. Jackson a few times when filming in Liverpool). Not far from Liverpool University it is popular with students and academic staff and in the evenings is nice for meals with friends and (small) birthday parties.
The food is really well prepared, big portions, great veggie selection and service is very friendly and attentive. Drinks - BYO but pay corkage. For birthday parties you can bring in your own birthday cake.
The only gripe: they pack a lot of tables into a small space!
