Negresco Sud

The food was great - sharing platters of fish, vegetables etc, or meat and olives/capers/pickles - I recommend. Not only are they well presented on wooden boards, the food is good quality, tasty, and the combinations of flavours has been well thought out. Romantic for sharing as well.

This place is great - we went very soon after it'd opened, and although the waitress was a little useless, she was utterly charming, and made up for it by having oodles of character.

The main courses were well done, and showed flair, and attention to detail. The wine was good, and we didn't manage puddings - it's not nouvelle cuisine (thank goodness!)
Cocktails are also good, and I loved the interior design - unusual enough to talk about, but without overshadowing the meal.
The only downside is that it is expensive, but not overly - the food quality and little touches are so worth the price.
I liek Negresco, its dark black interior, comfy seats and sureeal masquerade imagery littering the walls appeal to me. The nEgrescos has replaced the masonic in the bohemian region of liverpool, lark lane. There's quite a lot of competition for the food/drin mone on lark lane with over ten places serving food on the small "lane". as such ive never eaten in negrasco, it just seems too expensive to sit in what appears to be a desolate restaurant so i cant mention the food! The drinks are great though, all of the best brands as standard and well trained friendly staff who can all mix cocktails. You pay for the quality though so its definatly not for those looking for a cheap night out.
