Reviews for The Olive Press
The Olive Press is nice, smart, stylish, but quite reasonable - the sort of place you could dress up for a nice occasion, but also quite relaxed so you could pop in there for a quick meal. It is ideal for business lunches or dropping in for a meal after work because it is in the business district and has a nice atmosphere.
The food is good, the pizza's are nice, similar prices to Pizza Express I think. They do some resonably priced dishes like posh burgers or more expensive fancy meat dishes.
It is cosy inside, quite posh looking, dark with nice wooden tables, but not intimidating, more relaxed.
Based in the financial area of Liverpool, the Olive Press is part of the Heathcotes group (see also Simply Heathcotes Restaurant), and one in a chain of Italian restaurants across the North West (e.g. Manchester, Warrington, Preston). However, it doesn't feel like a themed chain restaurant but is surprisingly cosy and intimate considering its size.
Food here tastes as close to the real thing as you'll get outside of Italy! Food is authentic and fresh, pasta is handmade and pizzas stone baked.
Toddlers (under 3) eat free, and older kids can make their own pizzas - great fun - or eat from the extensive kids menu for £7.50 for main, dessert and drink.
