Reviews for The Egg Cafe
Egg is brilliant - cheap, wholesome food, kitsch, chilled atmopshere with great music and the opportunity to BYOB - what more could you want! Really worth a visit - it's a cute little hideaway to hang out with friends or just chill out yourself with a good book and a glass of vino. Great!
This is a wonderfully haphazard random student, veggie and feminist's hang out. Well worth a visit if not to eat but to wonder at the decoration. The Egg is hidden at the top of a long, thin staircase and behind a big blue (i think) door. The cafe itself is like a jumble sale, the tables are all random things that look like they have been donated or salvaged from a skip or river....hell some tables have even been made out of old doors....you have to dodge the handle when placing your tea down. Don't let this put you off this is the charm of this fantastic little gem...pity i don't like veggie stuff. I am sure the food is top notch, but unfortunately nothing really appeals to me. having said that the puddings are always 5 star and they have a large array of herbal infusions. Deffo take a look at this gaff.
The Egg is a vegan and vegetarian friendly cafe. It is friendly and relaxed for lunch or dinner and within student budgets. Hidden away at the top of a spiral staircase in the middle of town, there are more regulars who visit The Egg but is becoming more and more popular to the alternative youth of Liverpool. However, do not be deterred by this new emo culture, as there is a wide mix of people of young and old who eat here. It boasts a delicious bean burger and as simple as it sounds, the cheese and toast is well worth trying. Also offers delicious carrot cake and the infamous chocolate crunch. Ingredients, including the juice, seem to be the cheapest, and this fact is not hidden away. However, the food is tasty and great for a cup of tea, a read of the paper, or a lunch. It is easy to sit here alone and wile the time away. A wider range of food should be offered however, as you are bound to visit this cool little cafe time and time again. I believe there is sometimes live music here too.
The Egg Cafe is a vegetarian cafe in the Newington area of Liverpool. The cafe offers a huge variety of vegetarian and vegan dishes in a mellow atmosphere. My favourite choice is the homemade soup with cheese on toast but you can buy larger meals. On a recent visit my firend and I were shocked by the bill for our order. We ordered 2 main meals with drinks with a slice of bread each. The bill came to £20 and we were charged £1.50 each for a bog standard slice of bread.
The staff are very friendly at the Egg Cafe and I always get awarm welcome but I npow tend to head for Keiths Wine Bar for gorgeous veggie food at value for money prices
The Egg is a wonderful vegetarian cafe, hidden away up two flights of stairs - not one for the weak of leg, or carrying of prams.
The atmosphere is very friendly, and you can choose to sit at your own table or a an extra-large table and maybe make some new friends! The decor is constantly changing, as they allow artists to display and sell their work on the walls. It's nice to have a different view on each visit.
The food is a limited range but tasty, cheap and piled high. Personally I love to stop for a slab of lemon cake and nice cuppa - about £3! Wide range of drinks, and in the evenings you can bring your own wine for about a £1 charge.
If you like your eating a little kooky and away from the high street brands, definitely head here.
