Have purchased 2 satellite systems from them in the
past ( Silvercrest) both excellent.

I've only been to this German supermarket once - I've got an Asda, Aldi and Netto much closer, so no need to travel - but was very impressed by what's on offer.
Lidl doesn’t sell any branded items, everything on the shelves is their own brand products, and it takes some getting used to that (or you might just want to stock up on your favourites elsewhere). But the absolute selling point for me was their fruit and veg selection. On the day I went I'd bought one aubergine at our local greengrocer's, for £1.40, in the morning, and then stocked up with more aubergine for £0.29 a go at Lidl! Also had a good selection of more unusual veg and fruit, not just the most basic items like Netto.

Lidl stocks a wide range of food, drink and household supplies for a fairly small supermarket.

There are some brand names among some of the soft drinks, however there aren't many brand names. This is not to say that the food they sell isn't of good quality though. The fruit and veg is often excellent and very fresh. Lidl usually has promotions making its fruit and veg cheaper than the big supermarkets.

For value for money you really can't complain. Ok you probably couldn't do all your 'big shop' here and would have to pick bits up from one of the bigger supermarkets but for the basics and some speciality foreign foods it is excellent.

Excellent value for money, don't be afraid just because it's not brand named!

Lidl seems to have come into its’ own since the credit crunch came into being. Many people would not have dreamed of ever shopping here in the past. Then the wonders of Lidl were mentioned on the news and all of a sudden many people now shop here.

The main thing to understand is that many of the products Lidl sells will not be household brand names. That doesn’t mean to say that they are not good, it’s just that people tend to only buy products they know. But there are plenty of websites around which taste compare products with known brands, with little difference seen, but at a vastly reduced price when compared to major supermarket brands. So if you are prepared to try their products, you may find that you do actually like them, but more importantly you can save a packet on your weekly shopping bill.
