Dont even bother going, unless you like screaming kids and very poor food. I complained and the waiter said "The Chef stated he will let the suppliers know"..... which means, he's not a chef.... he a microwave assistant.

Bad, Bad and Bad..... and Bad again.

For the past 12 months I have been frequenting the Rocking horse, more so over the past 6, I usually go for the texan pork or the chicken or curry dishes.

My friend often goes for the fish or the steaks.

Every meal we have had has been lovely, and we have gone on various days of the week, and weekend, and have yet to have a bad evening there at all.

The staff are always friendly, I often have a good laugh with a few of them now, both male and female staff.

It is a great place for kids, nice big area for families to go sit so they not disturb the adults with no kids in adult area.

The toilets are always clean, and they even have a disabled toilet, which makes a nice change for a pub.

2 mens and 2 ladies toilets, and always seems to have space when it gets busy, very rarely get people standing at bar blocking it for other customers to get served.

Admittedly, sometimes meals can take a while to come, but I've enjoyed every meal I have had there so far, and I always get a meal and sometimes a desert when I am there.

I'm not saying westy221 didn't have a bad time there, but considering I go very often and always have a main meal, if it was as bad as S/he says it was, I'm very surprised I have not run into any problems so far.
Unless after that incident they have vastly improved.

If you read my comments on other pubs I have been to, you will see that I am very critical of places I visit, and my standards are high.

I have given the Rocking Horse no stars what so ever due to the fact that I have just returned from a night out with work collegues that has been totaly ruined by the staff at the Rocking Horse. I ordered a medium to well done steak, when it arrived it was a dry as a bone, I returned it and requested what I ordered, I was advised that it would be about 10 mins and a fresh one would be cooked. After 30 mins it arrived back this was again as dry as a bone and looked alot like the steak I previously returned only a bit blacker. The other steak ordered by our party med to well done was slightly pink but not bloody. When I retuned the steak again I requested a refund of the cost of the steak I was advised by a very rude and arrogant member of staff that in his opinion there was nothing wrong with the steak and he would not refund me the cost of the meal. I requested to speak with the manager and after 10 mins she came out of the kitchen advise me that in her opinion the steak was not over done and I would not be issued with a refund. I advised her that I would speak to others ordering meals to advise them of the poor quality of the food I was presented with, she then told me I had to leave the pub or she would call the police and have me arrested. I was not abusive to any of the staff I spoke to I was polite and spoke calmly when I requested a refund of the money I had paid. As I had been threatened with the police if I did not vacate their premises I had no choice but for myself and my husband to leave. My collegues could not belive that I was being threatened with arrest over a steak. I am not a violent person and have never had any dealings with the police and to be threatened in such a way has left me shocked and stunned. I do not see why I should pay for somthing that was not of an acceptable standard. Please be very careful if you order food from the Rocking Horse and it is not acceptable for you if you request a refund you may also be threatened with arrest.

I couldn't disagree more with this comment, I shall post my own experiences from the past 12 months below.
