My Husbands Uncles 50th Birthday meal was to be held at Bentleys (within Wellington Park). We went with trepidation as I had viewed the Wellington Park complex when I was due to get married and was not overly impressed. However, the Restaurant is relatively new so we decided to give it the benefit of the doubt. When we arrived we were greeted by a friendly Italian Man who immediately put my three year old at ease and waylaid my misgivings as to how Children would be tolerated! We were seated quickly and the menu's were given out. There is a set menu and the downside is that they do not have any Specials. The Starters and main courses were ordered together and we were asked if we wanted the Childrens meals bringing out with the Starters so that they wouldn't have to wait too long. The Starters took about 20 minutes to arrive which wasn't bad considering that there were 14 of us! I had the smoked duck salad which was delicious and very well presented while Hubby had a tasty looking pate. It was about another 20 minutes for the mains to arrive and the same again for the deserts. The staff were very friendly and professional throughout. The only problem that we did have was that one plate of salmon had to be sent back as it was cold in the middle - however, they did deduct this from the final bill. A thoroughly pleasant eveing was had by all in very ambient and serene surroundings. The prices were reasonable and Hubby and I will probably visit again - this time for a romantic meal for two!
