Reviews for Firebug
A classic Leicester venue. Great in the day for lunch/quick drink and likewise a good venue to meet friends in the evenings. I dread to think how much I’ve spent in the place over the years.
Firebug is a student friendly independent pub in leicester city center. Its a large pub with two floors and has live music on some nights. The bar area is vast and they have a decent collection of beers and spirits, which are usually served to a decent standard. Free wireless internet is available. Food is served daily however can be a bit touch and go, sunday lunch is offered however i am yet to try.
The main thing i think the pub lacks is the personal touch as it is sop big. Gets very busy thurs nights
During the day firebug is very quiet it’s a great place to not only grab a good half pint (it has a great selection of beers like hoegaarden, peroni also cocktails and soft drinks) But also use their free wifi connection (via a code at the bar), the staff are helpful, and there is interesting art in the wall, and music is at a pleasant volume.
During weekday evenings the place is busy but not uncomfortable, there is normally something going on upstairs like live music and comedy, and service reasonable food till seven. Not the best food in the world but it fills a hole.
The weekend is where the bar becomes very crowd with loud music, what you expect really for most city centre weekend places. You will be lucky if you get a seat or even a space to stand in the beer garden!
