Reviews for Mulan Restaurant & Bar
I found this place from internet reviews as I am new to Leeds. I often research places first as I do not get to go out too often these days. I went on my own as my family live abroad. Mulan is a nice place in the old Jewish area of Leeds City Centre. I used to know this area well in my younger days. I spoke with the girl working there and she said it also used to be a school where people learned to bake and cook. She was a very sweet young girl and told me a bit about the purpose of the restaurant. It turns out that there are many different dishes in Chinese food and the people at Mulan want to share this with us. I don't know Chinese food that well, but she gave me little samples of dishes. Dim Sums she called them. And she told me Dim Sum means touched by the heart or a little bit of heart, meaning it was made with love for me. It was a lovely afternoon at Mulan, and the staff were superb. They were very helpful and the meal was not dear at all. I left not only full but also a little bit enlightened by my experience there.
I would advise you if you go out for Chinese in Leeds city centre to support this place. Especially during this credit crunch time when I think all restaurants are suffering. They do some lovely dishes and seem to have and truly unique, altruistic approach to dining. I will be back and hope you fellow reader go and pay a visit too.
The food here is so fresh and delicious its unreal! The food is prepared before your very eyes so you know it is fresh and to your liking. The noddles are the best i have ever tasted which is why i keep coming back again and again! The menu is full of variety so there is always lots to pick from there really is something for everyone. It does get a bit busy sometimes but you are never waiting too long for your meal. The staff are lovely and very polite. I will defiantly come here again and tell all my friends about this place.
Wow, I eat the food here and it's so good it makes me home sick. A lot of my friends go now and it's the best place to go for Chinese food. I eat the dim sum. I like the fresh noodles too. So good. The noodles are famous now :) Peace out. Wei Wei
I've only been here a couple of times now, but every time it's great. It's a Chinese restaurant with a really nice relaxed atmosphere. I have taken my friends and my mum. There is not many places I can do that. The prices are really good, the food is great and I love the noodles. I think I have actually started craving them. They are so fresh you can see them being made in the kitchens at Mulan. There is this great dish that's simply called poached pork. I've been with my Chinese friends and they say it is just like back home. Be warned though it's massive and it's quite spicy! The first time I went I over ordered, which was great but I had no room for desserts. This time I went they had changed the ice-cream menu. I had a mix of green tea ice-cream and rose petal sorbet and they even brought me a sample of wasabi ice-cream (it was really nice but I went for the green tea). I was really impressed because I have never seem such a range of ice-creams and sorbets! Anyway, the whole night was great. And it was a lot busier than the last time I went. Definitely somewhere for the slightly more adventurous Chinese food-lover.
