Reviews for Zizzi
Bog standard italian food, small portions. Pizza, bolognese etc, dessert menu particularly was very very expensive for what it is. The drinks especially are extremely expensive, beware if ordering larger sized bottles of anything lager-like they are about 7 pounds. Our waiter was really very lovely and we did leave a tip. Additionally the whole place was spotless and stylishly turned out. Location is very central and in the middle of lots of nice bars. The food failed to impress however and i wont be in a rush to come back here. If the prices were slashed I might consider it.
Much like its nearby sister restaurant (Ask and Zizzi are owned by the same company) a visit to Zizzi can be quite inconsistent. However, Unlike nearby Ask, the inconsistencies in Zizzi happen less often so that they're not the norm, and you're left with a satisfying and resonably consistent restaurant.
I like the feel of Zizzi - the decor is modern and fits its surroundings. I also enjoy having the kitchen front line as part of the restaurant, so you can watch your food being prepared while you wait (and occasionally enjoy the arguments of kitchen staff)
The food itself is normally very nice - although you can order the same dish twice and have it taste completely differently each time for some reason. Pizza and pasta are as you'd expect - unspectacular, but fine, and some of the salads are huge. Desserts let the side down unfortunately - £5 for a tiny slice of cheesecake does not represent good value.
Service is generally good - relaxed, unhurried and friendly, with most staff happy to stop and chat if they're not busy.
Certainly worth a visit
