Dare is one of those narrow shop fronts across from subway, and from the outside it looks like a nice place to have food, but maybe a bit pricy.

Luckily it is a great place for food and the prices are really good. Especially if you get there during the week for the early bird menu, where they do a buy one get one free on all main meals - so 2 can eat for under £15 including drinks! I like to stick with the pizzas, although there's a decent choice of pasta or mexican dishes.

The staff are very friendly and whenever there's been a problem they've been quick and efficient at sorting it out.

If there's a downside it's that it's situated in Headingley, so your table may be next to some braying students who can't stop going on about a) how hung-over they are or b) how they hate it when people say they don't know how the real world works. But I keep going back because the food is really good.
