Bad cut, bad customer service Hair Associates 12th June 2009

I went to the Hair Associates branch in Oakwood.

The hairdresser at Hair Associates provided a cut so far removed from what had actually been agreed it was untrue (ie 1 inch turned into 4 inches all over - I came out with about a third of the amount of hair I went in with).

I had been very clear with the hairdresser (as I have been growing my hair for 18 months!), and she had understood by confirming “I will take no more than an inch off”.

To make matters worse, when I politely complained at the Hair Associates salon(the first time I have EVER had to complain to a hairdresser) the whole salon staff crowded around to defend the stylist - instead of admitting fault and simply apologising! Worse, some staff clearly lied about overhearing what had been discussed in agreeing the cut and had total disregard for how upset I was.

It wasn’t just an issue of liking the style or not, it was just so obviously a SIGNIFICANT amount shorter. I was so caught off guard with Hair ASsociates so blatantly challenging that this was the case! Two colleagues had originally agreed with my complaint, but quickly disappeared when the manager stepped in with what appeared to be a well rehearsed line.

Making a mistake is one thing, but then the behaviour of the Hair Associates staff afterwards was totally inexcuseable. They did eventually reluctantly give me a refund, but that does not make up for the way I was spoken to or to having to regrow my hair for another 18 months.
