Went in for a quick meal on my way home from work as I thought I'd try out some local pubs; one a week.

As soon as I arrived I was rushed along by a manager (someone in a white, instead of black shirt) and had to order food quickly even though the pub was empty. I told the manager about allergies to dairy to which he offered me a Tandoori chicken. I explained that I couldn't eat yoghurt as it contained milk and ordered a Balti instead.

The meal was very quick to come and was served personally the man who had taken my order. I asked him how the rice he had given me was cooked and he told me the whole meal was packaged and he wasn't sure. A minute later he came back with some Naan bread (containing milk) and told me it was apparently Pilau rice, which it looked nothing like.

The food was horrible. Complaining didn't help and I left without £12 of the £20 I came in with and feeling slightly ill. Not recommended. In fact, discouraged.

The Vesper Gate, is situated out of Leeds centre, near Kirkstall Abbey. Plenty of parking makes it easy to accomodate customers.
There is a decent sized outside seating area, ideal for the summer evenings.
Quite a large pub, with food available from a good choice on the menu. The service at the bar is friendly, a good choice of hand pulled beers and lagers, as well as plenty of spirits and bottled drinks to choose from.
The menu offers a selection to suit most tastes, from meat eaters wanting a nice mixed grills, to vegetarians who would prefer a meat free salad.
Meals are served promptly and the staff ensure everything is to your satisfaction, with sincere checkbacks carried out too.
This is a nice place to call after going for a stroll around the park across the road.
