9-30 Sunday morning. Three people already having breakfast outside. I went in and ordered 2 Full English. I was told they could not serve us until 10-00. When I mentioned there were 3 people already having Breakfast I was told they were B+B guests. They could have been more on the ball and offered us a free cup of tea to be going on with. We never went back. First golden rule of any successful business "Never turn customers away"

To clear up any confusion, our Cafe does not open until 10.00 am. If it is not open how can we be expected to serve customers (breakfasts or cups of tea).

Prior to the cafe opening we are cooking and serving our B&B customers/generally preparing for the day and getting ready to open/occasionally even finding time for a cup of coffee for ourselves. Sometimes, before opening we even sit outside at our tables and have breakfast (after all this is our home).

We do not have any spare time or indeed spare energy to offer breakfast/cups of tea or indeed any fayre to anyone who knocks at our door and requests to be served outside of our opening times...

Perhaps, Douglas1234 you think we should stay open 24hrs a day, just so we don't have to 'turn customers away'?.

Of course, anyone is welcome to have breakfast any day of the week with us at a time to suit, and definately before the cafe opens but first you will have to book in as a b&b guest.

You won't find better! We had the most amazing cooked breakfast every morning of our holiday, the only decision was to have the English or American with pancakes - a tricky one!! Sandwiches to die for - try the bacon, brie & pineapple - WOW. Beautiful location, overlooking the sea, lovely gardens and pretty interior. Homemade scones are the best I've ever tasted - I guarantee you'll be amazed..if you're in the area - make it a must. If you're not...make the journey!

This is a lovely place to eat, not only for the delicious food that is freshly cooked and really reasonably priced in comparison to some 'foodie' pubs of this quality. It is all really tasty and generous portions too. It also has the advantage of the scenery and setting that helps make it as special a dining experience as it is, as it is right on the beach at Torcross so you can see the coastline, and whether it's sunny or stormy, the views are fantastic. Also a great spot to walk and explore and then settle in with a drink and something to eat at the end of it. Great outdoor area to eat in also, and the staff are really friendly.

Woohoo - best place out to eat. Scrumptious food all totally pukka as Jamie would put it. All that and it's down on the edge of the beach at Torcross - go there on a wet or stormy day too and see the dramatic scenery as well as enjoying the grub.

The very best in top quality, fresh local homemade food - everything is totally scrumptious and affordably priced. We had freshly made lasagne, sumptuously filled with lean local beef, on pillows of melt in the mouth pasta with the tastiest melted golden cheese bubbling on top. Everything is delicious from the sandwiches to the cakes to the irresistible Devon cream tea.

Carol and Bonni and their excellent team will look after your every need. Customer service is excellent and the surroundings right at the water's edge at the end of three miles of golden sand is breathtaking. Seating indoors in the old lifeboat house and outdoors on lovely raised decking in the superb gardens overlooking Start Bay to the lighthouse at Start Point. This is a little corner of heaven.

We'll be going there whenever we can - see you there!

Just to let you know that now, several visits later, we can confirm that this place is consistently brilliant. Everything we have had has been top-notch, still excellent value and the staff are really exceptional.
