This place used to be quite something, a cool, modern bar with a friendly landlord and top notch pub grub. Unfortunately, it seems to have gone down the nic a bit now somebody else has taken over (although I hear recently it has got better). Its on the expensive side for the town, but they have an excellent larger selection (lacking in bitter really) and DJs on on Friday & Saturday nights. Wetherspoons next door gives them a run for their money, undercutting them on pretty much everything; if you're willing to pay you do end up with funkier surroundings.

There is a strictly enforced no hats policy (last time I was in anyway).
