The Lord Nelson is situated on Fore Street just behind the recently redeveloped quays of the old non-tidal Ipswich Docks. They have been serving beer here since 1653 and long may they continue to do so! The interior is jam-packed with character; low ceilings, huge oak beams and some very quirky furnishings make this pub well worth taking a detour to visit, particularly as the extremely potable Adnams beers are kept in such fine condition.
