Reviews for Cascades Bistro
My hubbie and I dropped in for lunch in April 2008 and I opted for the leek and potato soup at £4.25. It came with a bread bun (no butter). The size of the soup portion was very small, it would not have been adequate for a hungry male. The bread bun was warm but the outer crust came off when you pulled the bread apart and it was very warm in the middle. Clearly it had been microwaved a bit too long I think. The soup itself was bland and tasteless. The service was okay and hubbie's sandwich was very nice. Unfortunately, when I pointed out my disappointment in the soup I was told that as I had eaten more than half I still had to pay. I didn't even finish the bun either. The fact that the cook did not appear to defend the soup's quality and flavour, justified my complaint. Needless to say we shall not visit there again.
