Reviews for The Albany
Not sure if this is a pub or a bar bit of both, yes you get posers here and they look like estate agents, but the place is clean and tidy,on our few visits they have had 2 ales on the place leans more to bottled lager and wine which says some thing.Just out of town ok for a visit would not spend a full night here tho.
Had a few drinks and food here last night with a couple of guys from my work and some others from a law firm (networking don't you know).
The selection of real ales consisted of Greene King IPA and Wells Bombardier, the latter is always good. Watch out for short measures on the pints and don't be afraid to ask for it to be topped up.
The beer is expensive for what it is (around £3.50 a pint). The selection of food was good and reasonably priced, between £9 and £13 for most of the main courses. My fish and chips was good although I heard reports that the steak was disappointing for £16.
Nicely decorated and very modern, gets busy at the weekends. Quite a posy place at times. Don't come here if you want spit, sawdust and a traditional atmosphere. Not the kind of pub I usually go to but pretty good nonetheless.
