I have just been for a meal at Pinkertons and feel the need to place an excellent review. A few years ago I would not have rushed back to Pinkertons, however I was informed that after a slump in standards this place was taken over about a year ago. I tried again and have to say that the food was excellent, the service was just as good. Quickk and friendly and no rushing you out the door. Very relaxed atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

go to pinkertons regulary for meal and drink. Great atmosphere and food brilliant and with new menu difficult to know what to have. was taken back over in January 2008 and was refurbished throughtout.

I went to Pinkertons for hogmanay 2007 to start the new year 2008 with my friends and family. We paid £35 per head for a buffet, free drink and disco. We were disappointed when the hot buffet which was served by table had practically finished by the time it got to our table - yes, they ran out of food, there was no choice so the whole table got stew with carrots which was cold. When raising this with a member of staff, the attitude we received was nothing short of appalling! it was obvious the staff did not want to work on new years eve and this in turn was passed on to customers in the attitude and service. There was no count down to the bells and the bagpiper was 10 mins late!! great start to the new year. I wouldn't ever recommend going to this pub, it has gone drastically downhill over the past year and the table of people sat next to ours who had frequented the pub for their hogmanay celebrations for the past 7years were equally disgraced by the service. Management were as much use as a chocolate fireguard and in the end dealt with complaints by asking anyone who made a fuss to leave with the help of doormen. The worst start to a new year i have ever encountered!!BE WARNED
