Reviews for Two Fat Ladies

I always used to see this place as I walked from the city centre to Bothwell Street, and it's only recently that I decided to try it. Like other reviews, I must comment on its excellent food quality - everything's really fresh, especially the fish. The place itself has a quiet ambience about it, but I did go quite early. It's licensed, of course, which is a bonus if you're on a romantic date with wine, but otherwise the food will keep you and your friends more than occupied. The staff serving our table were all friendly and polite, but did "hover" a little bit which was distracting in a small way. The only bad thing about this place is the parking - there's only the expensive street-side parking spots which are usually filled up and cost a bomb anyway. Apart from that, however, I'd absolutely return.

This is another of those little gems for people living in the West End. We had soup of the day starters, baked fish and a dessert. Including wine, ti came to about £25 per head. For a weekday evening, the restaurant was busy but not packed, so a decent atmosphere and good service. The waitresses were polite, gave us recommendations, and were prompt clearing away used dishes, and bring the bill when asked. We will definitely return here - it is ideal for a romantic dinner out.

OMG! What a treasure. In a little side street of the city centre near where all the suits work. I had a fixed three course meal for about £17 and it was worth twice that amount. I had a gorgeous soup starter, followed by monkfish and salsa and a super huge pudding. The quality is amazing. I cannot rave enough about this. You have to try this if you love food, fish and atmosphere. The service is a little bit slow at lunch so give yourself a full hour and half to savour the place and not to rush away too quickly. I think it would be a good place for a leaving lunch or a christmas night out or even a proposal. Just a lovely little gem.
