Reviews for Wagamama

I used to be a big fan of Wagamama until a couple of bad experiences recently where we were left standing outside in the rain in a big queue clutching menus waiting on seats when there were entire empty tables clearly visible. The staff just kept walking past us even after we were joined by at least another 6 people also looking for seats. We were on the verge of walking away having waited about 20 mins when we were finally seated without so much as a 'sorry about your wait'.
Aside from that experience (which was repeated about a month later) the food is always good. I just think it's a bit too big chain-esque and lacking in character. Ichiban round the corner on Queen Street's food is just as good if not better and it's so much warmer in atmosphere.

Yes it is a part of a big chain but to me Wagamama never fails to please. Hubby and I have been eating here for years and our son adores it too. The food is very fresh, staff friendly and helpful and the whole place very child friendly with clip on high chairs, kids menu and crayons and paper to draw on. Over the years we have tried food across the whole menu and now have firm favourites such as yasai curry and ginger chicken udon in the mains and duck gyoza (crispy dumpling) and tori kara age (crispy marinated chicken) in the side dishes section. The specials menu changes seasonally and it makes a nice change if you are a regular. The juices are fantastic too - they use whole fruit in their juice machine with lovely flavour combos. Kids menu is well thought off and fantastic value for money with a choice of meals and ice cream for £1. The dessert menu is quite nice too.

Wagamama, part of the national chain. This restaurant serves cheap food, but in my opinion nowhere near as good food as Ichiban. If you are going to go, get a 2 for 1 deal here - there are loads of vouchers on the internet. It is good for stopping off weekday lunches or evenings, but dreadful on a saturday - it just gets too busy, meaning slow service. It also means that you are seated very close to other diners.

Summary - good value (especially on a 2-for-1 voucher), but not that great.

Wagamama seems like one of the most profilic chains - they are everywhere and they are always doing deals, like buy one main course get one free on the back of your cinema ticket. Yes it is cheap and cheerful, but I don't think it is that good. Every dish contains ginger or hot spice or some variation of, so they all end up blurring into each other after a while. They also have the annoying bench style seating which can hurt your back or leave your perilously close to strangers. If you are thinking of eating here, walk a bit further and go to the superior Ichibans on Queen Street.

Wagamama is a great place to eat if you want something quick, fresh and tasty. As with other branches of the chain, the seating is comprised of long tables and benches. This means that you will very likely be seated right next to other diners. This combined with the generally lively atmosphere means it is not the best place for a quiet date. The food is very tasty and arrives quickly with lots of noodle dishes and other asian specialities. The prices are generally reasonable and if you sign up for their website there are frequently offers to take advantage of. A good, lively place to eat.

Wagamamas is a good restaurant if you fancy a cheap filling lunch while out in the centre of Glasgow. It is centrally located and boasts excellent value for money. The food is served quickly. This is not the place for a romantic lunch or dinner as you are squashed on tables next to lots of people you don't know. They do a range of rice and noodle dishes that are all freshly prepared by chefs you can see. The staff are always efficient but we warned this place gets busy especially on a Friday lunch-time but you can always get take-away.

A nice enough Japanese eatery directly in the middle of Glasgows city centre. The menu could have been a bit more varied, as well as there being more options for a vegetarian or vegan diet. Prices are reasonable considering the very large portions that are served up. Staff were incredibly efficient and helpful. The food was nice but could have been a lot more authentic to it's tradition, something which Nanakusa on Sauchiehall street has managed to do perfectly well. Still, it is a nice enough restaurant that I would recommend people pay a visit to and experience some very interesting and vastly different food from the day to day that we are used to.

I was out shopping with my sister in the town and we were both feeling hungry and she asked where to go as i live here ,i didnt no but for one thing somthing fast and tasty was what we were both looking for so the choice was fastfood an expensive resteraunt or this big place called waggamamas. We went in and ordered i had a bowl of noodle soup and my sister had prwn toast and beef noodle soup my goodness what a fantastic soup it was proper pieces of chicken and beef noodles were great and it really filled me up i didnt even need a dinner that evening. We shared our food and the other thing it was great value and fast service but not to fast and it was a great place just to sit and have lunch but the next time we go we will just order one bowl of soup between us as this would be more than sufficient for anyone i think this anyway .
