Reviews for Bradfords

because the cakes here are really good. They probably get a lot of people like me coming in for cake wednesday or Friday. The prices are not that cheap as you would expect but taste better than Greggs. The fresh cream birthday cakes are also very nice but make sure you order early enough. I like going into Miss Cranstons which is basically a Bradfords with a different name. It is near central station. I am not that keen on the savoury - fairly average fair and sandwiches are not my cup of tea.

Bradfords is a typical baker, offering the usual things like sausage rolls and cakes. However greggs is much better, as they have more affordable prices, and a wider variety of things. For example, bradfords don't do sandwhiches or baggets, which means theres less on offer if you go there for lunch. Plus bradfords heat up everything in the microwave, I would rather they made everything fresh. Still, the things on offer are quite nice, and they do pretty nice birthday cakes if your looking for a good one. Nice location though, good for a quick lunch if your in a hurry.

Downstairs in Bradfords is the take away bakery section where admittedly the goodies are more expensive than the average baker. However, the goodies taste so much better. Even though I have a sweet tooth I have to admit the bread/rolls are devine. My favourite has to be the multi-grain loaf. Never makes it to become a sandwich, straight in the house and a wee bit of butter smeared on a thick slice - yum. Always cut the loaf yourself.
Upstairs is the restaurant. You can have your porridge with cream and brown sugar or a cooked breakfast. Lunches and light bites are also sold. The one draw back to Bradfords is the stairs up to the restaurant which are not very disabled friendly. There is a small section downstairs with seating if you are a having a lite bite to eat. If you want something more substantial then you will need to negotiate the stairs.
