Reviews for Beanscene
This branch is part of a chain of many coffee shops in Glasgow. The place is always quite busy with lots of mums and children as well as non parents and it seems very popular. Selection of toys and lots of room for prams. The food can be a bit hit and miss and the coffee can be too bitter for my tastes. I find the prices can be high compared to other chains but not as consistent in quality whenever I have been. Although the music is quite interesting it can be played at deafening levels at times - way too loud for a chat. There are tables at the front of the coffee shop as well as in the enclosed garden at the back.
Very cool and hip hangout for young guns and trendy mums. I am neither and I still like it. It is so different from the Starbucks and Costa Coffee. You get live music, hot chocolate, nachos, pizza, cake, pannis, big Friendslike sofas, wireless connection, easy going staff all in one place. It is just what you want from your neighbourhood hangout. Come here after some shopping or school or just to read your sunday paper in a home away from home. The prices are reasonable and you can share platters between friends. I go for the nachos with the jalepenos - spicy - and I like the hot chocolate with plenty of whipped cream. Even my mum likes the tea here and that is saying something!
