Reviews for Where The Monkey Sleeps
Good coffee, great range of sandwiches. Several snug rooms.
What a fabulous cafe this is! I absolutely adore this place. It's very quirky and different and interesting. The music they play is good, the atmosphere is friendly and lively, there are lots of little trinkets stuck in the walls, there is art on display, big comfortable sofas (although you're lucky if they're free to sit on), and yummy cakes. The menu is so interesting because of the imaginative names they've given their sandwiches (a Stoofa with cheese, Woman from Iran, Child of the Goat, and Drown the Witch are all favourites). I end up picking what I want just by the name rather than the filling, because I'm guaranteed that no matter what I choose it'll be delicious. They always have a lot of vegetarian options and their sandwiches are just delicious and so different from what you get anywhere else.
