Belgium is one of those countries that is difficult to define. Half French, half German, it's a mix of traditions, but Brel incorporates them perfectly.

Beer. Mussels. French Fries. Waffles. I ask you, what more could one want from a meal? Seriously - the food in Brel is tres magnifique! Try the croque of mussels in a white wine sauce...ist sehr gute. But for dessert you simply must sample the belgian waffle with hot toffee sauce and ice-cream. Truly orgasmic.

The decor aint have interesting either, and the extensive range of beers is sure to please any beer connisseur.

    Bon appetit!

Busy with a great range of Belgian Beer

Great bar - very busy with a great atmosphere.

Have only eaten here a couple of times - try the traditional 'French' fries (did you know they originated in Belgium??) with creamy mayo to soak up the Leffe. For less of a snack the Cassolets are fantastic, soak up the sauce with hunks of crusty bread.

In summer head out to the grassy hill at the back to soak up whatever rays of sun the Scottish summer presents!

Waffles, chocolate, beer, the European Parliament, Tin Tin and Jacques Brel the jazz musician - what else do you know about Belgium then?

I've only ever been in here for a last beer or two after drinking elsewhere in Glasgow's west end, and it's always been full to bursting, and indeed overflowing into the lane outside. It's in an old barn or cowshed and the floor is still identifiable with its channels for taking the water/piss away, and the walls have those white tiles you might remember from primary school toilets! Well worth going in just to look at the architecture, but don't do it on a busy Friday night!
