  Oh, back in the days of student life I spent a lot of time - and a lot of my student loan here! (Although I should clarify that is due to quantity of - rather than price of drinks ;)
  
  Providing a handy stop point between the bars of the West End and the town, Uisge Beatha is always busy and has a lively atmosphere. I believe it has a good range of whiskeys and ales but this is not my area of exopertise!.
  
  I don't know if they still do this, but kilts used to be compulsory for the staff (male and female!) which matched well with the random decor!

  Nice atmosphere, & the fairy lights are lovely! The folk sessions on Thursday & Sunday nights are ok, but not great- they're more of a concert than informal jam session.

  Always very cold inside for some reason. Probably related to the lack of heating I suppose!
  
  It's pronounced something like "Oosh Ke Vay", which translates from Gaelic as Water of Life, and is supposedly how the word whisky originated when the pronunciation deteriorated!
  
  Sells Real Ale, and the decor is perhaps best described as eclectic!
