Reviews for The Lambton Arms
The Lambton Arms has, for a few years now, been my favourite pub (or at least joint favourite with another). It is located in Eighton Banks, somewhere which seems to be one of the last remaining semi-rural areas in that part of Gateshead. The pub is a traditional one and it looks the part. It is a welcome sight from the outside and blends perfectly with its surroundings. The interior is equally as appealing. It looks very old inside and gives a good atmosphere. There's some good real ales on tap and an impressive menu available. The only thing which i would say negatively about it is that it lost a little of its charm once Greene King (the former owners) sold it. The menu seems less impressive than it once was and that does have an impact. All in all, i can't recommend this place highly enough. The views are outstanding from the pub and it'll leave you with a good feeling.
In a side note, this was the first pub in the north east of England to ban smoking, years before the smoking ban.
