Reviews for Il Colosseo
A lovelly Italian meal amongst the typical Italian decor with good service. The manager also joined in the serving and was very jolly. Will definatly be going back again. A good place to go with friends and family alike (kids) as when I went there was agood mix of ages and groups.
I dropped in here on a Wednesday night. I was quite early but there were already plenty of customers, and by the time I left at 9 it was three quarters full -obviously a popular place.
A smiling waiter is always a good sign and the staff here are certainly very welcoming and attentive - in fact the service was faultless yet relaxed.
The menu is quite large, combining good Italian starters such as calamari and bruschetta, with excellent pasta dishes, and a mixture of veal, beef and chicken main courses. Pizza is also available and the sweet trolley is excellent.
I had a couple of glasses of house vino bianca which was of good quality - shame they don't offer carafes of wine.
For a starter, pasta main course, dessert, 2 glasses of wine and some mineral water the price was a very reasonable £27 plus service.
This is a memorable Italian restaurant, which has managed to find the elusive combination of food, ambience and service that just makes you want to come back for more. It verges on a 5 star experience in fact. If it was in my home town my wife and I would be eating there frequently. Enough said!
Quality Italian food. This place used to be a bank, I think! Very grand & Italian inside, if a little on the corny side! The waiters are fun and on a Friday & Saturday, a little live music. Oh, the food - pretty darn good!
